Add a little bit of body text

As June approaches, we are reminded of our civic duty and the opportunity to shape our communities through the power of our vote. On June 7th, both the Local Council elections and the European Elections for the European Parliament will take place across Ireland. It's crucial that we all participate in these democratic processes to ensure our voices are heard and our interests are represented.

Here's what you need to know:

Who Can Vote:

  • Local Council Elections: Anyone with a PPS number and residing in Ireland is eligible to vote.
  • European Elections: Those with an Irish passport or European passport can cast their vote.

Registration Reminder:

Before the elections, it's essential to ensure you're registered to vote. You can easily check your registration status at www.checktheregister.ie. The process is simple and will only take about two minutes. Make sure you have your Council name, PPS number, date of birth, and address handy.

Celebrating Diversity in Representation:

As an organisation representing migrants in Ireland, we are delighted to see an increasing number of individuals from immigrant backgrounds contesting in this year's elections. It's a testament to the inclusivity and diversity of our democratic process. Let's support and encourage these candidates who are stepping up to represent our communities.

European Elections for MEP Candidate from an Immigrant Background:

  • Dr. Umar Al-Qadri (Dublin Constituency): Dr. Al-Qadri is a previous board member of NCP. Anyone in Dublin with an Irish Passport can vote
  • We also want to take this opportunity to acknowledge one of the founders of the New Communities Partnership, Dr. Zhyan, whose vision and dedication have been instrumental in shaping our organisation and advocating for immigrant communities across Ireland.

Let's make our voices heard and participate actively in Ireland's development. Together, we can shape a better future for our communities! Every vote counts, and together, we can make a difference.
